New York - The Recording Academy on Wednesday introduced its "What's the Download Music Survival Guide," part of a public education campaign that offers "constructive solutions to tackle illegal downloading."

The guide was written from the viewpoint of young consumers, and "outlines relevant court cases and perceptions of the music industry that have led to illegal downloading," while providing suggestions on re-committing to artist development and educating consumers.

The What's the Download Interactive Advisory Board that created the guide includes US Weekly entertainment editor Shirley Halperin, BigChampagne CEO Eric Garland, and R&B artist Chris Brown. Other artists supporting the campaign, which was introduced at the CMJ Music Marathon in New York City, include Kanye West, Common, Kelly Clarkson and Earth, Wind & Fire.
