YouthNoise, Veeker Team on Election-related User Video Campaign

San Francisco - YouthNoise, an online social network for youth dedicated to social change, said on Friday it partnered with Veeker, a mobile-to-Internet video service, to encourage young people to upload video from their local polling stations, political rallies, protests and Election Day parties to the site.

"Election coverage not so long ago was the purview of television. Very recently, it became more decentralized by the blogosphere. 'Veek the Vote 2006' carries this trend a step further, giving young Americans the ability to instantly communicate their Election Day experiences with video," said Veeker chief marketing and product officer Rodger Raderman.

Veek the Vote Success!

More and more news stories are founded upon evidence gathered by video mobile phone users. Kramer got veeked, but more importantly, so did the U.S. 2006 elections. Over 750 veeks were sent to veekthevote.com in November, offering a very broad perspective on the election. Hopefully, the new technology offered by Veeker will continue to decrease apathy in the election process by offering everyone a voice AND the opportunity to protect the integrity of our elections.
