Apple Computer announced on Monday that it has hired IBM veteran Donald Rosenberg as the firm’s new Senior Vice President and General Counsel. Rosenberg will report to CEO Steve Jobs. Apple's general counsel position has been vacant since May, when Nancy Heinen resigned without explanation.

Verizon has named Jason Malamud Vice President and General Manager of Verizon FiOS Media. Malamud will be responsible for advertising sales across Verizon FiOS TV and IP- delivered video-on-demand; and via broadband video on Verizon Web sites. Malamud was most recently Vice President, Affiliate Advertising Sales and Marketing for MTV Networks, where he was responsible for affiliate ad sales activities for Viacom's basic cable networks: MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, CMT, Comedy Central, Spike TV, TV Land, BET and Logo.

Blue Fang Games, developer of the games franchise "Zoo Tycoon", announced today that Bill Schofield is joining its team as Director of Software Engineering. Prior, Schofield was a Senior Software Architect at Ternary Software, an agile consultancy and outsourced development company. Schofield has also previously held software engineering positions at the following gaming companies: Electronic Arts; Ritual Entertainment; and Retro Studios.

TANDBERG Television, a provider of digital video solutions, today announced the appointment of Robin Main as Senior Vice President of Application Software Development. Main will lead the research and development of software technologies for the company’s global customer base. Main was previously with Movaz Networks, where he served as Senior Vice President of Engineering. Prior to Movaz Networks, Main was Vice President of Software Engineering at Scientific-Atlanta.
