MySpace Launches Two Live Music Webcast ProgramsAuthored by Mark Hefflinger on November 15, 2006 - 2:47pm.
Los Angeles - Fox Interactive Media's MySpace on Wednesday announced the launch of two new live music programs that will bring interactive live music webcasts to its community of users.
"MySpace LIVE" will allow users to submit MySpace messages to fans and bands attending live performances, while "Hey, Play This…" will utilize MySpace instant messenger to let fans interact with artists during an exclusive live music performance. The first MySpace LIVE event will feature a six-hour live webcast of a performance by DJ Paul Oakenfold in Miami on Saturday, Nov. 18, during which fans can send text messages that will be seen on a message ticker at the venue, and attendees can post photos and clips of the show to the event's MySpace page. The first Hey, Play This… live webcast was held on Oct. 25, during a performance by Ben Folds in Nashville where fans could request songs and post comments on the performance via MySpace instant messages.
