San Francisco - Real Girls Media Network (RGM), an online publishing company that combines editorial, user-generated content and community, announced on Thursday that it has raised $6 million in its first venture capital round, from 3i and WaldenVC.
The online network aims to build ad-supported sites focused on "the totality of women's lives, not just specific life events," and will allow women to publish their own opinions and stories. The company's first website, DivineCaroline.com, targets women ages 25-54 and is set to launch in early 2007. RGM plans to launch sites aimed at other age groups later next year.
