Mobile Video Dating Tech Firm Mobestar Acquires Mobile LifeAuthored by Mark Hefflinger on November 20, 2006 - 6:23pm.
London - Mobestar, a developer of mobile video technology, announced on Monday that it has acquired the assets of U.K.-based Mobile Life Consulting for $664,000.
Mobestar has developed a multimedia call-switching technology that allows anonymous – rather than telephone number-based – video connectivity between mobile phones, enabling services like mobile-based online dating and social networking. The technology was added in September to QSoft, the U.K.'s largest online dating business with 1.1 million users. London-based Mobestar said the Mobile Life Consulting acquisition will allow it to extend access to its mobile video dating services to 3,000 wireless devices, PCs and other platforms.
