New Media Producer/Public Affairs Specialist - OMNITEC Solutions - Alexandria, VA

OMNITEC Solutions (www.omnitecinc.com) has an immediate need for a New Media Producer/Public Affairs Specialist skilled in “New Media” services as well as traditional public affairs fundamentals. New Media includes blogs, podcasts, video/audio on demand and other forms of mass communication not typically operating in the realm of mainstream media.

Position includes substantial efforts in identifying potential online content; analyzing of data such as video,  audio, and print stories; and the selection and basic editing of appropriate content for wider dissemination through multiple formats for wireless and related digital distribution.

Must understand flexibility in scheduling due to a 24-hour news cycle, have the ability to handle various tasks simultaneously, organize, prioritize, make decisions and work efficiently and effectively under constant daily deadlines. Participate in product planning sessions. You must be creative, aggressive, and energetic in executing New Media projects.

We require at least at least three years of related verifiable public affairs, video, audio, and multimedia experience to include, but not limited to:
  • Keen understanding of military or federal public affairs operations as related to “releasability” of information, appropriate message content and tone, operational security, information security, etc.;
  • Awareness of current news and information that may relate to key issues of concern in a global information environment;
  • Development of long-range messages and plans for New Media operations; and
  • Basic understanding as an end user of Web-based applications as related to text, video, and audio online postings, etc.
It is necessary for the position holder to possess strong interpersonal communication skills, able to effectively work with individuals and/or groups of varying audiences to include government officials, commercial and military media personnel, and senior leaders of broadcast/Web industry and government, and technical experts.

US citizenship is required. The work location is in Alexandria, VA.
