Napster Creator Fanning to Launch Game Community Site Rupture

New York - Napster creator Shawn Fanning plans to launch a virtual social community for online gamers called Rupture in the coming weeks, Business Week reported.

The service will consist of an add-on or software download that automatically creates individual player profiles, and allows gamers to chat online with one another and download various game content.

Rupture will initially work with Blizzard's "World of Warcraft" -- the most popular multiplayer online game with 7.5 million subscribers -- of which Fanning is an avid player.
