Atlas Acquires Online Ad Technology Firm Accipiter for $30.3 Million

Raleigh, N.C. - Accipiter, a privately held provider of online advertising technology, has been acquired for $30.3 million by Atlas, the Seattle-based technologies business unit of aQuantive.

Accipiter was founded in 1996 and has operated independently since 2002. From 1996 to 2002, the company operated under various corporate parents, including Engage and CMGI. Accipiter's management team, including co-founder and CEO Brian Handly, are joining Atlas, the company said.
