Burbank, Calif. - Warner Bros. Entertainment announced on Friday that it will make an equity investment in video game publisher SCi Entertainment Group, the parent company of Eidos Interactive.

Under the terms, Warner will pay an estimated $87 million for 10.3% of U.K.-based SCi, whose Eidos unit has published games including the "Tomb Raider" and "Hitman" franchises.

As part of the deal, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has granted SCi licenses to develop games based on the comic book version of Batman, in addition to the Looney Tunes, select Hanna-Barbera titles, and TV properties including "The O.C.," "Loonatics Unleashed" and "Legion of Super Heroes." Eidos also signed a distribution deal with Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group, which will provide warehousing, logistics, merchandising and media buying services for Eidos in the U.S.

"Investing in SCi further solidifies our commitment to the rapidly growing interactive and gaming space," said Kevin Tsujihara, president of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group.
