LG Electronics today announced the appointment of John Herrington to president of the LG Electronics USA Digital Appliance Division. Since 2001, he has served as the division's vice president of sales.Effective Jan. 1, 2007, Herrington will succeed Soon Kwon, who will now be responsible for digital appliance sales and marketing in the Americas, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Handango, a provider of smartphone content, today announced the appointment of wireless industry veteran Eric Anderson to the position of Vice President of Business Development. Anderson will play an integral role on Handango's executive team, with responsibilities for building new sales channels, managing and enhancing Handango's breadth of strategic relationships, and developing a comprehensive plan for working with Handango's partners in the smartphone market.

Verizon Wireless has appointed Jack Plating to executive vice president and chief operating officer of Verizon Wireless, effective January 1, 2007. Plating, currently president of the company's South Area, will oversee the company's nationwide sales and customer service operations, product development and marketing. Plating will report to Lowell McAdam, who was recently named president and chief executive officer of Verizon Wireless.

Narrowstep Inc., the TV on the Internet Company, announced that is has appointed Todd Narwid to the position of Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales. Mr. Narwid will be based in the US and will be responsible for managing all sales functions throughout the company. He will report directly to David C. McCourt who recently assumed the position of Chairman of the Board and interim CEO of Narrowstep, Inc. Most recently, Mr. Narwid was President of the Business Solutions Division for RCN, Inc.

Hearst-Argyle Television, Inc. has announced that Michael Gay, manager of the award-winning web operation at WBBM-TV, the CBS-owned and operated television station in Chicago, will join Hearst-Argyle in the newly created position of Executive Producer of Digital Media Content. The appointment is effective January 2, 2007. Gay will coordinate and execute Hearst- Argyle digital content initiatives and will be based at the headquarters, near Minneapolis, of Internet Broadcasting Systems, Inc., which produces, manages and hosts Hearst-Argyle's 29 TV-station websites and in which Hearst-Argyle holds a 38% equity interest.
