What the Buck?! Why isn’t this Guy Signed?

While searching for video of Jennifer Hudson on YouTube recently, my wife came across a refreshingly unique take on the new movie Dreamgirls, in which Hudson, a former American Idol contestant, outshines her most established co-stars – in particular Beyonce Knowles and Jamie Foxx – in her underdog role as Effie White. The reviewer, AKA Buck the Hustler, aptly conveys his fun and over-the-top style with the clip’s title: Beyonce Threatens to KILL Jennifer Hudson if she WINS OSCAR!

At first viewing of the 'review', it is not easily discernible if 'professionals' or 'amateurs' (whatever those terms imply in this era of user generated media) produced this irreverent critique of the musical. By the way, the movie has been well received in general by “professional” critics, in large part due to Hudson’s soulful portrayal.

Regarding “Buck the Hustler”, there is little doubt that he has talent and should be signed. But who should sign him and to what? Perhaps he simply needs to find a good lawyer to start syndicating a subset of his content both online (e.g. TMZ.com) and offline (e.g. The Soup). After all, his MySpace profile matter-of-factly lists Buck’s occupation as “Major Television Personality”.

Okay, I just have to make it known that Buck has got to be the funniest person I know. In fact, when they do his made for TV movie on his life story, I am going to lose 20 lbs so that I can play him.....I am already learning his mannerisms and movements! "What the Buuuucckkkk!!!"
