Santa Clara, Calif. - InvenSense, a developer of motion sensing technology for mobile and consumer applications, said on Wednesday that it has raised $11 million in its second round of funding from new investor QUALCOMM Ventures and previous investors Artiman Ventures and Partech International.The Santa Clara, Calif.-based company said that it will use the new capital to ramp up production of its dual-axis gyroscope – which offers precision motion sensing accuracy through the measurement of rotational movement – as well as to complete development of its new product for the handset market. InvenSense called the new round "the next step" in its strategy to integrate motion sensing in consumer electronics, including gaming and mobile handsets.
