Commonwealth Capital Ventures, a Waltham-based venture capital firm focused on early-stage technology businesses, has named Elliot Katzman as a general partner in the firm. Previously, Katzman was a general partner at Kodiak Venture Partners, where he focused on investments in software, Internet, and new media companies. Prior to that, he spent more than twenty years as a senior executive at various software companies. He founded and led Myteam.com, a direct marketing and new media company that merged with The Active Network and before that was CFO at SolidWorks. http://www.ccvlp.com/index.asp IDC, a Framingham-based provider of technology industry research and analysis, has named Karsten Weide as its director of digital marketplace and new media research. Weide previously founded the U.S. affiliate of MediaAnalyzer, a European online market research company specializing in advertising research. http://www.idc.com Exent Technologies, a San Francisco-based developer of technologies that help companies monetize PC and video games, on Thursday named longtime Intel executive Alan Snodgrass as its new president.
