Arlington, Va. - Factory-to-dealer sales of consumer electronics are projected to exceed $155 billion in 2007, up 7% from last year, according to new figures released by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).

"We're on track for another year of healthy growth," said Gary Shapiro, the president and CEO of the CEA. "We surpassed original projections for the second year in a row."

The CEA credited the growing numbers, in part, to the ongoing transition to digital television, with a steady flow of consumers replacing their older sets with new flat panel displays. Other categories expected to see significant growth include video game consoles, MP3 players and portable navigation and GPS devices.
