Qualcomm's MediaFLO Signs Mobile TV Content Deals

Las Vegas - MediaFLO, a unit of wireless developer Qualcomm, on Monday announced a series of license agreements with TV networks to add content to a new mobile entertainment service that will be offered by carriers including Verizon.

MediaFLO has signed license agreements with CBS ("CSI," "David Letterman," "I Love Lucy"); Fox ("24," "Prison Break"); NBC Universal ("Today," "Meet the Press," "The Tonight Show") and Viacom's MTV Networks ("The Real World," "The Daily Show," "SpongeBob SquarePants") that will deliver current and classic TV shows to mobile subscribers.

Verizon plans to utilize MediaFLO's service for its V CAST Mobile TV service, which is slated to launch in many major U.S. markets in the first quarter of 2007.
