San Francisco - Apple on Tuesday unveiled its long-awaited iPhone, a touch-screen mobile phone with music, video and Internet capabilities, as well as a device that wirelessly transmits video and other content from a computer to a television.

The $499 iPhone, set to ship in June, is less than one-half-inch thick, and features a 2-megapixel camera and 4GB of storage for music, movies, photos and e-mail.

The company said Cingular will be the exclusive carrier for the iPhone, and partnered with Yahoo to provide e-mail services and Google for online maps for the phone.

At the Macworld conference in San Francisco, Apple CEO Steve Jobs also introduced a $299 device called Apple TV. Set to ship in February, the box features a 40GB hard drive that holds 50 hours of video, and can wirelessly stream music, video and photos to a television from up to five computers within range.

apple iphone

I think it was a nice move for apple to come out with the apple iPhone it has most features consumers have been wanting to have and i think the price will not deter people from buying the apple iPhone. I even think they will sell more then the 10 million apple iPhone they expect to sell within the year.
