Los Angeles - News Corp.'s MySpace social networking site announced that it has partnered with the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, which produces the Emmy Awards, on the 2007 Broadband Emmy Awards.

MySpace will serve as the new awards' exclusive online partner; video producers and filmmakers can submit their content for consideration through the MySpace Emmy profile.

"The Emmy community on MySpace and our expansion of the categories eligible for the Broadband Emmy are our next steps in the National Television Academy's taking a leadership role in encouraging and recognizing premium content on broadband," said Peter Price, president and CEO of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Broadband Emmys will be presented in all of the Academy's existing TV Emmys categories, including Entertainment, News & Documentary, Business & Financial, Public & Community Service, and Sports. MySpace and the Academy added that they will sponsor Emmy scholarships to cover the cost of the entry fees for selected MySpace users.
