Las Vegas - SanDisk Corporation, a maker of media storage devices, MP3 players and other products, on Tuesday introduced technology that uses a USB drive to port videos on a PC for viewing on a television. The USBTV technology uses a small, flash memory-based player that can download and store video from a PC, and then plug into virtually any TV for playback. A multimedia processor converts stored files into various TV video/audio formats for direct playback without having to make changes to the TV. The first pocket-sized players to feature USBTV technology are expected to ship in the spring.
