SEEKING THE BEST IN SHORT FILMS, INTERACTIVE PROJECTS, MOBILE ADVERTISEMENTS AND AUDIO WORK. The Mid Atlantic Media Forum, organized by the New Jersey Technology Council is an afternoon conference and media event scheduled for Comcast’s regional offices in East Windsor, NJ on February 6, 2007. The conference will feature two discussions: What's Clicking? The Evolution of Interactive Advertising and What VC’s Are Looking for from Media Companies, as well as a Media showcase.In addition, to these sessions there will be an opportunity for media artists or companies to showcase selected work at the event. A total of six works will be selected. Sound works will be available as pod-casts on the New Jersey Technology Council website. Members of the selection committee will include representatives from: mutationengine, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Sage Frog Marketing Group, Seton Hall University, Stevens Institute of Technology, the David Henry Agency and The Horn Group among others. Mission The Mid Atlantic Media Forum will offer a regional platform of local artists and technicians to showcase their works in video, sound and internet art. The forum provides a unique opportunity to facilitate the discovery of new talent, continue the development of New Jersey and the surrounding region as a media center and provide an opportunity for artists to interact. Eligibility This call is open to media artists in NJ, PA, NY and DE. Eligible works must be recently completed. Works to be considered should run 5 minutes or less (no exceptions) and be suitable to all audiences. Terms and Deadline Download the application form here: http://www.njtc.org/files/media.doc (Microsoft Word format) Applicants must submit application with the completed work by 4 PM on Wednesday, January 24. Video works should be submitted in single channel DVD format, sound works must be recorded as a CD and sent in electronic format as well. In addition to assist with the jurying, visual submissions should be sent via .mov or .wmv format. For internet submissions, no viruses please.
