Las Vegas - Technology news and information publisher CNET Networks on Thursday announced its 2007 Best of CES Award winners, naming Korean electronics maker LG's combination Blu-ray and HD DVD player Best in Show at the event.

"We were skeptical that any company could deliver a combination player at the show, but the LG BH100 is the real deal," CNET editors wrote. "LG demonstrated how you can seamlessly switch between HD DVD and Blu-ray, changing discs, skipping chapters, and watching true HD (1080p) movies in either format without a hitch." The $1,200 player is slated to ship in February.

The People's Voice award went to Sync, Ford's collaboration with Microsoft on an in-car voice command system for phones and MP3 players. Other Best of CES awards went to SanDisk's Sansa Connect (MP3 and Portable Audio); Verizon Wireless V Cast TV (Cell phones, Smart phones, PDAs); and Powercast (Emerging Tech), a transmitter that can wirelessly recharge devices like cell phones and hearing aids.
