San Jose, Calif. - A private investigator involved in the Hewlett-Packard boardroom spying scandal on Friday pleaded guilty to identity theft and conspiracy charges, the Associated Press reported.
Appearing in San Jose federal court, Bryan Wagner pleaded guilty to two felony counts, admitting that he illegally obtained the Social Security numbers of several people, including two former HP directors and at least two journalists.
Wagner, who is scheduled to be sentenced in June, will testify for the prosecution as part of a plea agreement.
