Beijing - Major record label EMI Music announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with Baidu.com, China's largest search engine, to launch an ad-supported online music streaming service in China.

The service will stream Chinese repertoire from EMI's Typhoon Music for free to Baidu users. EMI and Baidu will share ad revenue generated on streamed songs from artists including Jolin Tsai, Stephanie Sun, David Tao, Sandy Lam and Richie Ren.

EMI and Baidu have also agreed to explore the development of ad-supported music download services.
