New York - Event producer Show Initiative on Wednesday announced plans to host its first annual Virtual Worlds Conference, an event for "Fortune 500 companies seeking to understand and maximize marketing, entertainment and business strategies within virtual worlds."

The conference is slated to take place March 28-29, 2007, at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York City. Sponsors of the inaugural event include two of the biggest players in the area of virtual worlds -- "Second Life" creators Linden Lab and There.com parent company Makena Technologies.

Topics covered will include understanding consumer behavior patterns inside virtual worlds; technology and design issues; and the benefits of standalone immersive corporate worlds versus destinations within "Second Life."

Show Initiative (formerly The Game Initiative) has also produced events including the Austin Game Conference, Women's Game Conference and Game Writers Conference. In November, the company launched its Virtual Worlds Management division, which will produce the Virtual Worlds Conference.

Speaking submissions at Virtual Worlds?

Do you know if they are looking at additional speakers? I'd love to get Podcast Ready (my client) and my employer, Topaz Partners involved. Cheers, Adam W: 781-404-2406
