Baltimore, Md. - Millennial Media, a developer of mobile advertising technology, announced that it has raised $6.3 million in its first round of venture capital financing.
Bessemer Venture Partners and Columbia Capital co-led the investment round; Acta Wireless also participated.
Baltimore-based Millennial Media claims to provide a "'Rosetta Stone' of technology and services to enable advertisers, publishers and carriers to speak the same language and all receive the benefits."
The company, which has now formally launched its mobile advertising services, is headed by Paul Palmieri, formerly with Verizon Wireless and Advertising.com.
