New York - mtvU, a unit of Viacom's MTV Networks, announced on Wednesday that it will acquire RateMyProfessors.com, a site with over 6.6 million user-generated ratings on more than 900,000 college professors.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

RateMyProfessors.com allows students to provide feedback on professors -- on issues like helpfulness and clarity -- to aid other students in choosing classes. The site claims 150,000 daily users, and 10 million annually.

MTV Networks said that, with mtvU.com, RateMyProfessors.com and its recent acquisition of the College Publisher network of 500 online college newspapers, mtvU now claims the second most-trafficked set of general interest, college-focused websites, according to comScore ratings.
