Casual Games Publisher MumboJumbo Buys Developer Ritual Entertainment

Dallas, Texas - MumboJumbo, a developer of premium online casual games, announced on Wednesday that it has acquired Dallas-based game developer Ritual Entertainment.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

MumboJumbo was created in 2001 by Ron Dimant, who left his post as CEO of Ritual to form the company. Founded in 1996, Ritual has developed titles including "SiN," "Star Trek: Elite Force II," "25 to Life" and the Xbox version of "Counter-Strike."

MumboJumbo's premium casual games, such as "Luxor" and "Super Collapse" have been ported to platforms including the Xbox Live Arcade, Nintendo DS and Sony PSP.

"The combination of Ritual's high-end, multi-platform expertise and our own industry-leading publishing model will set the bar for quality and sophistication in casual games and create a major industry powerhouse," said MumboJumbo CEO Ron Dimant.
