Avvenu Music Player Allows Remote Streaming of iTunes Libraries

Authored by Mark Hefflinger on January 25, 2007 - 12:51pm.

Palo Alto, Calif. - Avvenu, a developer of technology that allows remote access to PC files, on Thursday introduced the Avvenu Music Player, which allows users to stream their iTunes libraries and other music stored on a PC to any Internet-connected PC or Mac, laptop or Windows Mobile smartphone. The service requires that the user's home PC be online in order to stream music. The beta version of the player also includes a feature that allows users to share playlists or up to 250 songs with friends via e-mail. The feature automatically copies songs in the desired playlist to Avvenu's "secure media center," from where they may be streamed to the recipient of the e-mail's computer.

Avvenu Music Player

Very nice service. I love it, works very nicely for me. Do you think it will have any legal issues?

share your playlist with us

Why don’t you share a playlist from your music collection via your blog?

To embed a link into a web page:

1. make a share to yourself.

2. go to where it says 'click here' in the email, right click and 'view source'

3. look for a line that has several "href = https://share.avvenu.com/service/2785/datashare/........." strings in it

4. its the very first sequence.

5. copy that string into a browser to test it (it should boot the player, not just a picture)

6. if it does, embed that link in your blog with the <a href="http link goes here"> click here </a>
