New York - Viacom's mtvU campus music TV network announced on Thursday that it has partnered with the Kaiser Family Foundation to launch a contest that seeks the best concept for a Web-based video game that will raise HIV/AIDS awareness among 15-24 year-olds in the U.S.

The winning individual or team will be given $75,000 to work with mtvU and KFF on development and marketing of the game.

"No undergrad in school today has known a world without HIV/AIDS and a new young person someplace in the world is infected every 15 seconds," said mtvU general manager Stephen Friedman.

"Through this challenge, we hope to inspire college students to use the power of online gaming to engage their peers, re-awaken them to the magnitude of this deadly virus and effect prevention."

The Change the Course of HIV Challenge follows mtvU's "Darfur is Dying" game contest; the student-developed title has been played more than two million times and garnered the company an Emmy Award.
