New York - Sweden-based publisher Bonnier announced on Thursday that it will acquire 18 magazines from Time Inc.'s Parenting Group and Time4 Media units.

The Associated Press said the sale price was between $220 million and $230 million, citing two people familiar with the transaction.

Bonnier will combine the 18 Time Inc. magazines -- which include Popular Science and Parenting -- with the 20 owned by U.S.-based World Publications, of which Bonnier is a 49% stakeholder.

World Publications publishes titles including Sailing World, Spa and Garden Design.

"This transaction underscores Time Inc.'s commitment to focus our energy, resources and investment on our biggest and most profitable brands," said Time Inc. chairman and CEO Ann Moore.

Bonnier's best-known titles include Illustreret Videnskab, a popular science magazine; I Form, a health and fitness title; and Bo Bedre, a home and garden monthly.
