Los Angeles - Twistbox Entertainment, a developer and publisher of mobile entertainment content, announced on Thursday that it has acquired mobile media firm InfoSpace's mobile game development studio in San Mateo, Calif. for an undisclosed sum.

Formerly known as Atlas Mobile, the studio develops mobile games for consumer and entertainment brands that feature multiplayer tournaments for prizes.

Twistbox's own mobile games studio is based in Dortmund, Germany; the company also maintains studios in Poland and the U.S.

"This acquisition is a perfect fit for our value added mobile game strategy, and complimentary to our existing titles and on-deck distribution in over 40 countries," said Twistbox CEO Ian Aaron.
