Mountain View, Calif. - Zing Systems, a developer of mobile audio distribution technology, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $13 million in a new round of venture capital financing, led by IDG Ventures Boston.Also participating in the round were Redpoint Ventures and Camp Ventures. Mountain View, Calif.-based Zing's technology can be found on devices like the Sirius Stiletto and SanDisk Sansa Connect -- portable media players that can download and exchange content wirelessly without the need for a PC. "The market for mobile entertainment is exploding, and we are really only at the beginning of the curve," said Zing CEO Tim Bucher. "There is enormous untapped opportunity when you can connect consumers to their music and entertainment wherever they are, without a PC."
