London - Buongiorno, an Italy-based publisher of digital and mobile entertainment, announced on Tuesday that its U.K.-based unit has acquired Inventa, a mobile video production agency for about $1.9 million.

Founded in July 2003 by Profero, Damian Mould and BBC Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong, Inventa produced over 2,300 minutes of original mobile video clips last year.

Buongiorno said it delivered over 625 million ringtones, songs, games and other mobile objects in 2005 through its 60 mobile network partners worldwide.

"The UK is one of the most advanced markets in the world for new media and this acquisition confirms Buongiorno's drive to innovate and its commitment to play a leading role in the booming market for mobile video and TV," said Buongiorno UK managing director Luca Pagano.
