Interactive CD/DVD Gift Cards Firm Serious Raises $14 Million

New York - Serious, a developer of interactive CD and DVD-based gift, loyalty and trading cards, announced on Thursday that it has raised $14 million in a new round of venture capital financing, led by Greenhill SAVP and North Hill Ventures.

New York-based Serious holds over 100 optical card patents in 60 countries, and has designed products for clients including Disney, Nickelodeon, BBC Worldwide, Sony Pictures, New Line Cinema and Warner Bros.

The company has also secured licenses from the NFL, NBA and several European soccer clubs to create collectible CD and DVD trading cards.
