THQ Acquires "Full Spectrum Warrior" Developer Mass Media

Agoura Hills, Calif. - Video game publisher THQ announced on Friday that it has acquired Moorpark, Calif.-based game developer Mass Media, creators of the "Full Spectrum Warrior" franchise.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Mass Media's 50-member team has developed 30 game titles, using the company's proprietary BOLT game development tools.

With the acquisition, Agoura Hills, Calif.-based THQ now claims a total of 15 internal studios.

"We have aggressively expanded THQ's internal Studio System with a focus on creating innovative, new intellectual properties that take full advantage of the latest gaming technologies," said Jack Sorensen, THQ's executive vice president of worldwide studios.
