Stockholm - Swedish telecom equipment maker Ericsson announced on Monday that it has partnered with Turner Broadcasting System, to develop Turner's Internet, broadcast news and entertainment content for mobile devices.

Ericsson will provide hosting, content management and delivery technology for Turner properties like CNN International, Cartoon Network and Adult Swim.

The first product from the two companies will be CNN Mobile, an off-deck portal that will feature a 14-day archive combined with breaking news alerts and video news updates, initially to be offered in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The companies said CNN Mobile and other joint services will be rolled out to additional territories throughout 2007.

"With this deal, we will have for the first time a full portfolio of solutions -- from SMS through to mobile television -- that will scale and easily move across the world," said Casey Harwood, senior vice president of digital media at Turner Broadcasting.
