Online Social Network PatientsLikeMe Raises $5 Million

Cambridge, Mass. - PatientsLikeMe, a provider of online social networking services for patients with serious diseases, has raised $5 million in its first round of venture capital, VentureWire reported on Monday.

Among the company's investors reportedly are Kelli and David Fox, the founders of Astrology.com, which was sold to iVillage in 1999.

Cambridge, Mass.-based PatientsLikeMe offers users the ability to create a "community of patients, doctors and organizations that inspires, informs and empowers individuals," according to the company.
