Alexandria, Va. - A federal court jury on Tuesday acquitted two former executives of AOL who were accused of lying to auditors and falsifying paperwork in an effort to help former AOL partner PurchasePro meet revenue targets in 2001.

Former business affairs executive Kent Wakeford and former unit vice president John Tuli were acquitted on all counts following two days of deliberations, the Associated Press reported.

Their trial dragged on for more than three months at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, known as the "rocket docket" for its speedy proceedings.

A third defendant from now-defunct PurchasePro also was found not guilty on all counts.
