The Digital Media Association (DiMA) a trade organization devoted exclusively to meeting the needs of digital media artists, consumers and producers, announced today the appointment of Christine Layman as its new Manager of Congressional Relations. Layman joins DiMA following four years of service in the U.S. House of Representatives. Most recently, Layman served as the House Judiciary Committee's Administrative Clerk and Security Officer. Previously, she was Assistant to the Committee's Chief of Staff.

Dolby Laboratories, Inc. has announced the appointment of Ted W. Hall to its Board of Directors. For over 27 years Hall served as a leader and operating manager of McKinsey & Company, a leading global consulting firm. He was Managing Partner of the firm’s San Francisco office before assuming significant worldwide responsibilities for the firm, including direct responsibility for one of the world’s largest research and development activities on business and management issues. Included in his background is extensive experience in China, where he helped open McKinsey’s practice.

Island Records Urban Music, a new division of the Island Def Jam Music Group, has appointed Jermaine Dupri, a successful top-charted producers and songwriters, its President. As part of the arrangement, Mr. Dupri will oversee Island's entire urban music operation. In addition, he will produce artists on the IDJ roster, as well as provide his production services to the entire Universal Music Group family of labels.
