Augusta, Maine - The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against a 23-year-old man from Maine, for allegedly distributing songs online, the Associated Press reported.

The complaint is unique, in that Scott Hinds is accused of distributing just five songs; typically, the music industry's file-sharing lawsuits cite hundreds or even thousands of alleged infringements.

If convicted, Hinds faces a minimum penalty of $750 per song.

Hinds told AP he no longer listens to music online. "Why choose me? Every single person has done this," Hinds said.
