London - European wireless carrier Vodafone announced that it has partnered with News Corp.'s MySpace online social network, to allow its U.K. subscribers to access the site from their mobile phones.

MySpace was launched in the U.K. in early 2006. The mobile service for Vodafone customers is expected to launch in the first half of 2007.

Vodafone said it plans to offer handsets pre-loaded with MySpace software, as well as offer the software for download from its website.

"The partnership will enable millions of Vodafone customers to access MySpace mobile, allowing them to edit their own MySpace profiles, find and add friends, post photos and blogs and send and receive MySpace messages while on the move," the company said.

Separately, Vodafone said it has also partnered with eBay to offer a new eBay mobile service, allowing users to search auctions, bid on items and purchase fixed-price products.

The service will initially launch in Italy, and will be available across Europe later this year.
