Las Vegas - Developer Epic Games' "Gears of War" title took home eight honors, including Game of the Year, Thursday night at the 10th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards, an event organized by The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) at the industry's annual D.I.C.E. Summit.

Nintendo's "Wii Sports" was the second most-honored title, winning a total of three awards -- including Outstanding Innovation in Gaming.

The AIAS also recognized former Nintendo of America president Minoru Arakawa, and Nintendo of America chairman emeritus Howard Lincoln with Lifetime Achievement Awards.

The group inducted video game pioneer Dan Bunten as the tenth member of its Hall of Fame.
