New York - The Associated Press said that it has signed an agreement with NowPublic.com, a Vancouver, Canada-based site that features contributions from "citizen journalists," that allows AP to use photos, videos and news from the site. AP's vice president and director of strategic planning, Jim Kennedy, said that AP editors will work with the site to ensure the accuracy of its content, which will be chosen at AP editors' discretion to supplement the work of AP journalists. NowPublic.com members will be compensated and credited for their work.
