Digital Music Group Licenses Video, Music Catalog for Use on YouTube

Sacramento, Calif. - Digital Music Group, Inc. (DMGI), an owner of various video content and digital distributor of independent music, announced on Monday an agreement with Google's YouTube to license some of its classic film and TV catalog for distribution on the video-sharing site.

Sacramento-based DMGI owns or controls distribution rights for 4,000 hours of video content, including episodes of "Gumby," "I Spy" and "My Favorite Martian," as well as to rights to some 40,000 music recordings.

In addition to video, DMGI has agreed to allow some of its music to be included in user-generated videos uploaded to YouTube.

The company will share in advertising revenue generated by its content on YouTube.
