Mobile DRM Developer Discretix Raises $20 Million

Barcelona - Discretix, a provider of security and digital rights management (DRM) technologies for mobile devices and Flash-based memory, announced on Monday that it has raised $20 million in a new round of financing, led by Sequoia Capital.

San Mateo, Calif.-based Discretix's technology is used to provide conditional access for content such as mobile TV.

Customers include mobile device maker BenQ; Opera Software's Opera Browser for mobile devices; and UIQ Technology, which offers developer tools for the Symbian mobile operating system.

The company will use the funds to pursue an expanded range of content protection solutions for the consumer and enterprise markets.
