SMS Icon Language Developer Zlango Raises $12 Million

Ramat Hasharon, Israel - Zlango, the developer of an icon-based language for use in SMS text messages, announced on Monday that it has raised $12 million in a new round of venture capital financing, led by Benchmark Capital and Accel Partners.

Israel-based Zlango's icon-based language is currently available for use by wireless customers in Israel, Poland and the Caribbean.

The company said it will use the funds to expand its service to other markets.
