Redwood City, Calif. - Electronic Arts announced that it has acquired San Francisco-based SingShot Media, developer of an online karaoke community.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

SingShot's Web-based social networking platform allows site members to record their renditions of famous songs, share their recordings with friends and customize recordings with photos and videos.

EA said that the acquisition will accelerate its efforts in community-building and promoting user-generated content.
