Director of Video Sales/Digital – Universal Music – Universal City, CA

Universal Music Group is seeking a Director of Video Sales/Digital for the Universal City, CA office. This role will oversee the day to day account sales and marketing management of online and mobile video sales and streaming partners for UMGD. This position will act as the sales liaison, as well as manage the programming needs for this product line. The person will be responsible for being the primary liaison with their assigned labels, obtaining their consensus and agreement on set-up and launch of their new product lines, and working closely with them to ensure maximum sales, marketing, and sell-through opportunities. 

 

Job Functions:
•  Responsible for day to day management of online and mobile video products
•  Create and implement initiatives to increase streaming usage, downloads, advertising revenue and other performance metrics
•  Identify opportunities to create streams with video account base
•  Liaise with label partners to:
   o  Establish priorities
   o  Strategize marketing and sales launch
   o  Manage data and information back to the labels to improve current and   enhance future opportunities
   o  interact with constant communication in the areas of sales, marketing and analysis
•  Liaise with Digital sales teams to:
   o  Incorporate video strategies into all digital platforms
   o  Implement marketing and sales campaigns at physical/digital retail
   o  Manage sales goals for labels
•  Analyze and react to data on video segment growth, market share and revenue
•  Manage projects from beginning to end and meet deadlines
•  Create action plans to maintain optimum market share


Requirements:

•  Solid understanding of data analysis, consumer research, and their relationship to current business strategies
•  Ability to think creatively and independently, as well as collaboratively
•  Solid understanding of retail sales and marketing strategies
•  Solid understanding of digital consumer practices
•  Proven track record of managing projects from beginning to end, inception to sell-through
•  Proven track record of executing marketing, sales, and business plans
•  Ability to operate in a highly collaborative manner and work in pressure situations
•  Excellent negotiating and people skills
•  Polished presentation skills, ability to appeal to variety of customers
•  Ability to craft and deliver executive-level presentations
•  Ability to communicate with all levels of management and executives
•  Minimum 5 years of sales or marketing experience (music company or digital music provider)
•  Minimum 5 years of project management experience (direct or indirect)
