Maynard, MA – Brett Close has been named the new President of Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling’s game development company, Green Monster Games (GMG). Close brings experience from Midway, Electronic Arts, and VR1 Entertainment to his new job. GMG’s core focus is on massively multiplayer online games (MMOGs).
Close has delivered several popular titles throughout his career, including the Medal of Honor series and Nightcaster.
"World Championship teams have, at their core, the world's best leaders," said Schilling, GMG founder and CEO. "Brett brings a resume of results and achievement to GMG. The challenge here is in becoming the best in the world, and Brett Close as our president gives us an incredible opportunity to do just that."
Mary Kirchoff is Close’s first appointee. She will assume the role of SVP of Marketing and Brand Development. Her prior experience is with Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast. "Curt and Brett have assembled a dream team of experienced, extremely creative people of the highest integrity," says Kirchoff.
The company also announced the arrival of Chaz Sutherland as the Art Director. GMG’s first title will be developed Todd McFarlane, the creator of Spawn, and R.A. Salvatore, a best-selling author.
