Vice President of Product Development – Universal Music – Universal City, CA

The VP of Product Development will create, implement, and manage innovative product packages targeted at digital consumers. This position will be responsible for managing the set-up and launch of new product lines, and work closely with the labels to maximize new opportunities.


Job Functions:

•  Analyze consumer research to develop successful new product lines
•  Create new and improved packages for digital consumer, including bundling existing parts and well as new products
•  Liaison with retail partners, marketing concepts for commitment and sell-through
•  Liaison with label partners to strategize concepts and goals, share data on market research data and trends
•  Work with Finance to manage P&L’s
•  Create action plans to maintain optimum market share


Requirements:

•  Solid understanding of data analysis, consumer research, and their relationship to current business strategies
•  Ability to think creatively and independently, as well as collaboratively
•  Solid understanding of retail sales and marketing strategies through direct or indirect professional experience
•  Solid understanding of digital consumer trends
•  Solid understanding of consumer products
•  Proven track record of providing strategic direction and actionable recommendations to senior management
•  A good knowledge and understanding of P&L’s
•  Ability to operate in a highly collaborative manner and work in pressure situations
•  Excellent negotiating and people skills
•  Polished presentation skills, ability to appeal to variety of customers
•  Ability to craft and deliver executive-level presentations
•  Ability to communicate with all levels of management and executives
•  Minimum 7 years of sales or marketing experience (direct or indirect)
